Introducing the Judges of the 2013 #PitchTech4Dev Competition


The New Media Task Force is pleased to announce the panel of expert judges who will decide the winners of the 2013 #PitchTech4Dev competition. Make sure to register your team before the October 30 deadline.

Justin Kosslyn of Google IdeasJustin Kosslyn is a Product Manager at Google Ideas, exploring how technology can enable people to confront threats in the face of conflict, instability or repression. He led the strategy, development and launch of the Global Human Trafficking Hotline Network and has designed, prioritized, and previously launched new features and products within Google News, Google AdSense for TV, and Google Docs. Justin holds a BS in Computer Science from Yale, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Carnegie Council on Ethics in International Affairs New Leaders Program, and is an Associate Researcher at the Igarapé Institute.

Anne NelsonAnne Nelson specializes in the area of international media development and has worked extensively as an analyst, evaluator, and practitioner in the field. She has taught at Columbia University since 1995, integrating student online publications on their research. Nelson consults for many leading U.S. foundations, including OSI, Gates, Rockefeller, Carnegie and Knight. READ MORE

Stephen Newman - EricssonStephen Newman devoted the past twenty years to Executive Development and the challenge of using educational opportunities to broaden both senior and next generation executives at leading companies.  He was for fifteen years the Program Director for Executive Development at Ericsson, the giant Swedish supplier of networks and services to customers in over 160 countries.  He designed, developed, led and sustained a number of global programs for Ericsson’s Executive Resources. Adam Quinton - Lucas Point Ventures Adam Quinton is Founder/CEO of Lucas point Ventures and an active investor in and advisor to early stage companies. Adam is a member of the Global Advisory Board for Astia, a Founding Angel at Astia Angel and a Managing Director at Golden Seeds. He is also an Advisor for Topstone Angels. Clayton Sims - DimagiClayton Sims is the VP of Mobile Engineering at Dimagi, an award-winning, socially conscious technology company that helps organizations deliver quality healthcare to urban and rural communities around the world. His focus is on empowering both local and global organizations to employ technology on their own terms, working with partners on the ground to develop tools like IVR based voter information systems in Zimbabwe and audio-visual Maternal and Child Health tools for community advocates in Afghanistan. Clayton leads technical development on CommCare, a customizable platform which allows non-technical groups to author their own mobile data collection and decision support applications.
